When the sun comes out in Paris, people come out as well to soak it up. A few weeks ago I picked Canal St. Martin (an area I don’t know well at all) as my area of exploration during warm weather. I was met with a vibrant, artsy area, filled with little cafés and lots of street art. Click through to read about my tips about exploring St. Martin, you absolutely must see it if you are ever in Paris!
- Don’t miss the water flowing in and out to let the boats through! Younger me thought it was one of the coolest things she had ever seen, just watching the water pour in like that.
- Hold on to your bag. Theft is common around here, as it’s quite a touristy area. But don’t let this scare you off, just be careful!
- Take in the colorful street art (it’s literally all over, just keep your eyes peeled for it), and photograph the bright storefront of Antoine & Lili.
Have you ever visited Canal St. Martin in Paris? I ended up loving this area for the reasons above, but also because it reminded me of Amsterdam. That, and it’s some water in Paris other than the Seine!
